I purchased this because over the summer I started growing a lemon tree from seeds. as the temperature drops I've had to keep it indoors most days and the growth has definitely stagnated. I also thought it would be nice for my succulents during the winter, and the price was pretty low, so why not? I wouldnt recommend a low wattage light like this for a room without windows, but I highly recommend it to supplement natural light if you have a low-medium light window! I have it clipped on my windowsill and I keep it running pretty much all day. My citrus is finally starting to grow again thanks to this lamp! You have to keep it pretty close to the plant, I personally keep it about 3 inches away. It doesnt burn my plant or anything. I rated this four stars instead of five because my lamp had absolutely no timer function, even though it was advertised to! It just has two switches with two different levels of brightness. Thats really no issue for me, but surely it will be for other people so keep that in mind when ordering!EDIT: ive noticed some flickering issues and the price has since increased by 3 dollars (from $8.99+shipping to $11.99+shipping USD). buy one of these from a different seller! you can find cheaper listings of these lamps that actually have timers and more features.

I am returning this. This light did not have a timer on it, nor a brightness adjusting option, it was literally just an on and off switch. Disappointed. :(Update: thinking maybe it was a one off situation, I bought another one, ALSO NO TIMER??

I'd like the item more if it were well built. Within 30 days, there was a short in the switch. I figure that it's cheap enough, let's just look inside. The hot wire that connects to the circuit board had disconnected. It had never been terminated properly. In fact, it had never been soldered on. It had just been attached by a small drop of hot glue. There's a reason that this isn't done in the electronics world. It just doesn't last. I've replaced the switch myself.Would not recommend if you will rely on it or if you work hard for your money. I'd give it zero stars if possible.

Its winter and in Kentucky I can't keep my succulents outside so I purchased 2 sets of these grow lights. I can clearly see the improvements in my succulents since I started using this light! One plant in particular was stretching and the improvements after being under the grow light is beautiful, the leaves are more compact and even have a pink hue in them now! They're easily bendable so you can get them in a perfect spot and they've already proven they work to me. I included a couple photos, one is showing a side view of the succulent that was stretching and the other shows the top of it and the positive change that has happened since its been under the light. They're a great light for an affordable price!

UPDATE 11/19/19: It works. Excisting plants brought in for winter are growing leaves, and even seeing sprouts in the pots - even if unwanted!Came well packaged, and has a remarkably solid feel for the price, including the very clamp. Turns on fine but the timer function is a bit odd and hard to do and I can't see how one can tell if it's on/set. No idea if it works yet, but physically, looks to be a good buy. Will update if/when I get results with plants.

This light has a low profile, is energy efficient and is very effective. I brought some plants in, to overwinter in our house. In previous years, within a month they were spindly and sickly. Because of the inexpensive price I decided to try this. I have a geranium sending up new blooms, weekly. I've started basil and cilantro seeds and they have all sprouted and starting to grow. The coleus looks even better. I'm going to buy another one for my real houseplants. They can certainly benefit with this light.

Not a lot of instruction on operation. There seems to be either a delay or error with the buttons as I have not gotten the timer function to work properly. It either turns one or two bars off immediately, or never turns off. Very weird. I finally got it on completely and pluged it into an outlet timer. Good brightness though, no heat output, and my plants are not stretching or leaning anymore.

I got the first three at a much better price, then they went away and when it came back, it would doubled but I only needed one more. The timer sucks. It works for about a day and then stops keeping accurate time, so we bought a usb plug and just manually plug in. But it def helps my plants!
