When this little tin arrived, it looked like something a classic barber would use. Simple, sturdy, with a cool pig logo (Reuzel means lard in Dutch, apparently – a fun, if slightly unsettling, fact). The pomade inside is a solid white wax.Using it is straightforward. Scoop a little out, warm it up in your hands, and apply. It goes in smoothly, no tugging or pulling. And the hold! My hair immediately stood to attention. It was like I'd built a tiny, flexible skyscraper on my head. It stayed exactly where I put it, defying gravity and the occasional gust of wind. This stuff is not messing around.The "Matte" finish is perfect – no greasy shine, just a natural look that says, "Yes, my hair is perfectly styled, and no, I didn't use half a can of product." It looks effortless, even though I know the Reuzel is working hard behind the scenes, acting as the silent architect of my hairstyle.And the scent! It's described as a subtle sweet rum fragrance, and it's delightful. Not overpowering, just a hint of something pleasant that makes you feel slightly more dapper. I’ve been looking for a “high hold low shine” for a while and this meets all my criteria:-hair stays roughly in place all day, but can be re-styled-isn’t crunchy/ crusty (unless you put it in when hair is too wet, in which case you can rustle it up and knock the starch out)-I don’t get a lot of “strays,” some other products will have random loose hairs in front that seem to lose their place halfway through the dayNot a huge fan of the smell (smells almost exactly like Pez candy to me, if you can recall that) but the smell fades quickly. Overall a winner

Purchased the small 1.3oz one for testing to replace AC Fiber. Wanted something healthier for my hair as I get older and my hair gets thinner.Starting off with the scent. I was skeptical, but it smells great to me. Kinda like a Pina Colada but it's not overbearing or offensive.The texture of the pomade is nice and has a fairly thick consistency. More liquid than AC Fiber and not as chunky by just a smidge. Warms in your hands quickly for application and applies very nice and equal everywhere needed.Will report back over the coming week or so on overall performance, as I bought another Japanese pomade to compare with.

I have fairly fine/thinning hair and my first impressions of this was it's okay, but not great. I'm really not sure about the "extreme" hold of it. I was expecting something to really hold my hair in place and so far this just doesn't do that. It has more of a creamy/waxy texture to it and I guess I was expecting something more like a hair clay that I normally use. This also reminds me a lot of the Victory Super-Dry that I sometimes use. Both have the same consistency and work about the same on my hair ... they work okay, but just don't hold as well as I was hoping.

This is the best pomade I have ever used. My hairdresser Joseph recommended this one to me and I used it for more than two years. Literally, one container lasts for more than two years! Super strong!!

Great product. I have long thick hair and also very dense hair and this product works great! Keeps my hair the way I style it in the morning all day long w/out any issues!

This stuff gives me the look I want. I have about 5 inch long hair and pair this with another styling fiber, but I could use this alone if needed. I use this to polish off and lock in volume. It leaves a matte finish. I'm an active person and this keeps my hair in place as long as it doesn't get completely wet.

The manageability of the product. I have used many beard pomade and this company never let me down.
