V60 pour over setup. Inconsistent weight readings
*2025 Edit: complained about the product after initial purchase but it has been a reliable work horse, still going strong 5 years later. Worth it* Bought this to use for pour over coffee thinking it’s a great deal for a coffee scale but then I ran into some issues. The weight reading is delayed by half a second causing you to overshoot unless you pour/add coffee in increments and really wait for the weight to settle every time. Also the weight reading is inaccurate. I noticed it when I slightly tapped the scale on accident while waiting for the water to drain from the V60. No weight had been added or removed but it didn’t return to the original reading. Tested it again by removing and then replacing the V60 back onto the scale which produced yet another reading. I would say it fluctuates around +/- 0.5g. None of this unmanageable but as a coffee scale, which it is marketed as, it performs poorly. If you’re ok with “close enough” then this will suffice especially for the cost but if accuracy and having a consistent process is important to you, this is not the scale for you. There is a chance that I have a defective product but do not intend to try it again.

For an extra $160 I could have had a Fellow!
What a beautiful thing is the The Fellow Tally Scale! It measures in grams or oz, stops and starts a timer, zeroes or "tare weights" the scale to accommodate different measuring containers...dang, it has EVERYTHING. Even an "on-off" button. Oh wait. So does my Apexstone, which I bought two years ago for around $15. But the Fellow costs $185! It's so...expensive! and it has a GLASS top so you could BREAK it if you didn't handle it with the reverence worthy of an overpriced piece of hardware! And all I have is a dependable coffee scale/timer to work with every morning, weighed out to the 1/10 of a gram for both bean and water, then timed for both my bloom and my pour! And it has an auto shut-off if I forget to power it down. But, what am I supposed to do with all this extra cash?! Yes, my Apexstone scale occasionally gives weird readings. And you know what? Turn it off and on, and reweigh. What a concept! I've never not been able to weigh my coffee in the am due to scale inaccuracy, and no one EVER has said my coffee would taste better if I had spent more on a timer/scale. Folks, you can't go wrong with this nice little unit. Dependable, the batteries last a long time, it's so easy to use my 2-year old helps with it in the am, it's easy to clean, and it doesn't take up much space. It DOES however leave my wallet fat, which causes me all kinds of stress. "What ridiculously overpriced device could I buy INSTEAD of a $200 coffee scale?" Oh, how the rich must suffer!

Easy to use
It was quit accurate using calibrated weights at 10g and 100g. It would flawlessly for 3 year then started to getting an offset from zero occasionally, now a 5 years it getting offset often. Now when it is turned on it turns off a second later. It might do this a couple times and then works fine until a day or two later. Once it stays on for a couple seconds, it has never quit while weighing. Not too bad after using it several times daily for use for 5 years.

Great for pour overs. Just worth it for the timer.
Got this one on sale. The old scale that we used in the office for pour over was starting to randomly stop between pours. We used a phone stop watch to measure the brew time, so this one was logical to buy since it has both scale and a timer. It comes with a rubber top which is particularly good since we use to measure hot pour overs. It also comes with a plastic sink at the bottom to collect runaway coffee/ water. It runs on 2 AAA batteries which comes with the package. I've mostly used gms and mls but there are other units too. It has led lights which turn on when you press the button and turn off after some time. The display still stays on. It would have been cool if there was a way to turn off the led backlight to save the battery life. Been using it once every weekday and the battery still works, so nothing to complain there. It's sturdy, accurate and totally worth having in the kitchen/ coffee bar

A good scale, and works very well for coffee.
This is a really solid scale, with alot of nice features. It measures in grams, which I like, but it does take a moment to read the increases sometimes. Not like super long, but it can take a second or two to update to small gram differences. Once you start pouring water, it works just fine even with a small delay. The Tare function works pretty much perfectly. It is smaller than I expected, but I rather like that. It fits my 6 Cup Chemex just fine, and even comes with a tray that the scale fits in when not in use. The tray has a small cutout for emptying grounds out of on a corner, which is handy. For how cheap it is, I definitely recommend it, and I believe that I'll use it quite alot, even not for coffee. Oh, and it has a timer. It works. Can't seem to clear it's time, but cutting it on and off sets the time back to zero.

2yrs of use review
I’ve had this for over two years and i absolutely love this simple scale. A friend gifted me a “nicer” touch screen scale and I hate that thing. I had to come back here and just root for this little guy because this is a great product. I own a mobile coffee business and have used this scale to dial in hundreds of times. It’s accurate and easy to use. I’ve replaced the batteries once in two and a half years of using. I love that it has actual buttons to press and not a touch screen. If there’s one downside I’d say it’s a little long (hangs off my drip tray) and is difficult to keep clean. Or to look clean. Maybe it’s just because coffee is a messy business!

Unstable readings, unusable
After 2 yrs. of use, weight readings started fluctuating wildly (+/-100g) making it completely unusable. Followed directions, replaced with brand new AAA batteries. Scale is going to the garbage now.

Mat comes off way too easily
I can't comment fully on the value of this compared to high-end scales for coffee, but the measurements seem accurate to my Greater Goods scale. It seems responsive, and seems to work well. I'm taking off 2 stars though, because using it is not fun solely due to the very loose rubber top. It seems like every time I use it, the mat is getting knocked off or something. It's annoying to use despite the scale and timer being welcome features. It's easy to operate, but using this device is not "easy" in the sense that the mat comes off too easily.
