Perfect for what I want
I need this protector to keep out scabies mites. They are tinier than dust mites so I find the woven ones, even tightly woven, don't work.I need to have plastic, like a plastic tablecloth! So nothing can get through. This is the very best plastic protector I've come across. It's soft so isn't rigid. It's extremely light weight. And for plastic it is relatively quiet.I'm amazed by it. It falls over the edge of the bed almost like fabric. And if you really want 100% waterproof this is what you need to go for. Water repellant won't hack it.

Has saved me money and time already
I have 2 adorable (*cough* naughty) Dachshunds who hate wet weather and LOVE peeing on soft furnishings in protest. My expensive, hotel quality duvet is their favourite spot to pee, to show me just how unreasonable I am for not making sure it's nice weather at all times. The duvet has been safely put away since March and freshly laundered at the launderette recently to make sure any old pee smells are gone. I was about to put it on my bed unprotected, wondering how long my snuggly bliss would last before being peed on, when I pondered whether there was such a thing as a waterproof duvet cover. They exist!I browsed all the reviews for several different ones. Lots of comments like "very noisy" and "like sleeping in a crisp packet" (not altogether inaccurate to be honest, but I personally like the noise!), also plenty of reviews saying that they aren't fully waterproof.Well, I can say that THIS ONE IS.My lovely sausage just unleashed a gallon of pee (right next to me! Little *!?@) and not one single drop got through to the duvet.I can't say if it's guaranteed waterproof if the aforementioned gallon of pee had gone unnoticed for a few hours, but for instant cleanup it performed brilliantly.PROS - Actually waterproofSounds like sleeping in a crisp packet (you may want to move that to the cons list)Makes my duvet extra heavy (again, I like it, but I also like my 9kg weighted blanket...)Easy pee cleanupNo expensive launderette trip (or the awkwardness of sitting there for an hour making small talk with randoms)CONS - The duvet would definitely slip around inside the cover. I've held the corners in place with hairbands to avoid this happening.Traps air inside, duvet will blow up like a bouncy castle if you don't squeeze the air out before zipping it up (I might move this to the pros list, the dogs had a great time bouncing around..!)

Interesting buy
It serves the purpose for which it was bought. Easy to put on. Like any waterproof material it makes a bit of hissing noise while in use. Zip quality is good, and worth a purchase to avoid duvet cleaning regularly.

Awful
The media could not be loaded. I've had duvet protectors before, but this is by far the worst one.I'll start with the good:- The protector was delivered on time. And now that's over, onto the bad:Upon taking the protector out of the package, it became apparent that the material is not like that depicted in the main picture and looks/feels more like a perforated bin bag than anything resembling fabric. The closest thing to fabric on this was the stitching... Which was not only bad, but non existent in places, essentially resulting in holes. All this was prior to me actually putting a duvet in, and yet for whatever reason, I persisted... Which I promptly regretted.Due to dumpster diving nature of the material, the duvet just slops about inside... Presumably in a bid to escape the confines of the dreaded bin liner into fresh air.Speaking of; it has little to no air circulation. I assume the perforations are supposed to help, but instead they just lul you into a false sense of security before it starts up sauna simulator and roasts you alive like a potato in an air fryer. The product has literally 0 redeemable qualities and belongs exactly as it feels:In a bin.Probably the worst thing I've bought off Amazon.Edit: I have managed to inflate the "breathable" duvet protector.

Does the job but is noisy
Pros: WaterproofNice secure zip closureCheapCons: Noisy materialNot very softProtector slides inside duvet coverHave a few dogs that occasionally come over and every now and again accidents do happen. A duvet protector is a great way to save you a lot of money in cleaning costs as it's waterproof and machine washable. In those respects, this item is brilliant - it works brilliantly in waterproofing your duvet and being fully washable. But unfortunately it completely falls short when it comes to being silent. The case gives a strong crackly nose and for those light sleepers this can be a major problem. Also adds a bit of weight to the blanket and for those who like duvet covers, unfortunately it doesn't have much grip inside or out, meaning that the item ends up with the duvet moving about inside - a bit of a problem. Overall if you want it for waterproofness and a cheap price, this is good. But I don't think this is the best on the market and can't recommend.

Full protection cover
This is the 2nd one that I have bought for work as I work with elderly males that have dementia and after having to throw 4 quilts away these have saved the day. Easy to wash and whip over, don’t put in the dryer though
