Outstanding!
I can't recommend this E collar enough. We have a now 1 year chocolate lab (named Mocha) and right around the 8-10 month mark she became very testy with us. It was like having a teenager in dog form lol. Anyways I used the E Collar orginally for off leash training with Mocha and it worked extremely well. As long as you know how to use it properly the dog will catch on very fast.To train Mocha on it I followed these steps...1. I made sure Mocha had a solid foundation of training commands in the house such as sit, down, come, stay and so on. Inside is easy compared to outside with the many distractions and smells outside.2. I then took her outside using a 100ft drag line and basically repeated these commands. Every time she listened such as coming to me I would give her a treat. If she didn't respond on the fist time, I would vibrate her and give her the command again. At this point, if she didn't listen after 2 attempts at the command she would get shocked with the command again. Believe me I can tell you how many times (handful of times) I have shocked her because dogs quickly understand they need to listen to our commands and they don't want to be shocked. The shock function goes up to 100 and I originally started it with level 12 but we leave it at level 29 which is the "sweet spot" for Mocha. Mocha is approximately 60+ lbs and is extremely active so she needs a little bit more "umph" to affect her and get her attention.3. Within days, I didn't even need the drag line because Mocha knew she wasn't going to just run off, she quickly paid attention at all times awaiting commands or playing fetch with a toy.4. I used this exclusively for recall training at first but ended up using it for Mochas teenageness as well lol.Now for her testiness that was the teenager phase as my wife and I called it...in the house when she would for the lack of a better phrase get bratty with us. We would simply pick up the E collar remote and she would quickly listen or stop doing what we were telling her to stop doing. Every now and then a vibrate but its extremely rare she gets shocked because she knows the vibrate is her warning.Anyways Mocha is a completely different dog within just days of having this E collar, she listens, she doesn't test her boundaries anymore (partially because she's grown up too) but now we have complete control over her. Like I said earlier in this review, if you the E collar properly, there is nothing inhumane about it. Its not a punishment tool, its a reinforcement/ attention tool. Also your dog needs to know what your asking of them, so they need to have the solid foundation of commands from the get go. And you need to work that in with using the E collar so your not just telling them to sit and shocking them for not listening, then they wont get it. Kind of hard to explain, but for people who use this and know what I am talking about, know. Seek professional training advice if you need or use Youtube which has plenty of videos teaching how to teach your dog tons of things!I know this E collar is expensive, BUT I have tried 2 of the cheaper ones and they never really worked. As soon as I got this one, it worked right away and the battery life is phenomenal! I end up throwing on the charger every few days but I have found it charges so fast that I dont even need to throw it on that much. Mocha wears this collar pretty much all day when my wife and or I are home. If your serious about your dog training, this is worth every single penny! The collar band is decent, but kind of a pain, I have never been a fan of the belt style collars for dogs, I like metal snap buckles or cobra buckles. So I upgraded the collar to a k9tactical E collar which was only $25 and it has a cobra buckle simple easy on and off. I love this E collar even more because of it!Turning the collar on and off is actually pretty neat, it uses a magnetic part on the remote which is a little red cirlce then you touch the remotes little red dot to a little red dot on the collars receiver thus turning the receiver on. The remote turns on and off buy a button easy peasy. The other buttons are extremely intuitive, one side is one button which is the vibrate and the other side is 2 buttons which you know are the shock buttons when using the remote meaning you don't need to look at the remote when you use it.Update as of 8/3/2020:Collar and remote are still going strong. The antenna has a couple chips of plastic missing but we also abuse this remote/ collar. It goes on hikes, swimming in lakes, rolling in the grass in the snow in all weather conditions whatever mocha throws at it lol still couldn’t recommend it enough! The only thing I wish it had was some sort of battery level indicator for the remote and collar but otherwise it’s still running great!

Insurance policy (Like wearing a seat belt)
It's been just over a year since I've had this e collar and it's still working perfectly. Even though I drop it in ponds, lakes, and yes even deer/cow pies.Out of the 100 levels you choose from both of my dogs are under level 15 for their working levels. (To find your dogs working level you start at 0 in a no distraction area and work your way up until you find the level where they barely notice it. So if they are yelping/screaming/jumping the collar is way too high or you bought a Chinese knock off collar.) mind you I don't physically feel the collar on my body until around level 11. We only use the e collar to grab their attention, that's it.So if a dog see's a deer or another dog and recall fails they are "tapped" with a stimulation to remind them of "hey mom is calling you, go back to her." Or you can put it on continuous mode. Which is what we use. It means that weird feeling on their neck does not go away until they are turned around and coming back to me. Then the pressure is released. We never use it at levels where they are yelping or jumping. The only reason we are turning it up is because recall as failed and for their safety they need to come back when I call them no matter the distraction. The highest level they have seen is 35. Recall failed and they were chasing a deer. I tapped them once with that level and they both turned around and came back.I have felt the e collar on my hands, arms, and even neck all the way up to 100. It's a muscle stimulus. It's not causing physical pain or burning. Its the same technology as a TENS unit. It's sending a message to your brain that this is a weird feeling and I don't like it. For us it means we have reliable recall or matter the situation we are in. I rarely have to use the remote anymore. This is our insurance policy for them off leash. We first train positively then layer an e collar to proof the command.Once I felt our e collar I was amazed how it felt like the TENS unit at my chiropractor. I actually have used it on my back knots and my husbands back knots before. What's interesting is on some dogs the vibrate is more punishing to them then taking a tap of the stim. The vibrate is so intense and powerful to a dog that some will freak it or blow through it. Camber blows through it but Akira will yelp and even jump. So we never use it since she finds the vibrate aversive. Now not every dog needs an e collar but in the right hands on the right dog it can really help with recall and other basic commands like heeling or gun dogs.I'm very happy I opened my mind up to this type of training. I was turned down by 3 positive dog trainers with Camber that said at the end of training that he will never be trusted off leash around dogs and wildlife.... now? We spend 99% of the time off leash. They are both happy to be off leash and their quality of life has skyrocketed. Off leash hiking is the best thing for my dogs. I cried the first time Camber was off leash this past summer. To see him running around a field happy as can be was amazing to me. We tried every other method in the book to train recall when a distraction is present but no hot dog or whatever the treats was would get him back. I could slap him in the face with steak and he would still ignore me because chasing a deer is a higher value then the cookie I have for him. This tool in the wrong hands can cause some major damage.... but in the right hands and with proper training this tool will help your dog bloom and enjoy that off leash freedom that they crave and want. I don't think every dog needs an e collar but this was our last resort for them to get that off leash freedom and I don't regret one second or penny of it.No matter how much and often I train my dogs they are still dogs and have instincts. Sometimes training will become second and nature will take over. I want to be as prepared as possible to ensure my dogs can be off leash but safe. The moment we see people/wildlife/dogs anything or anyone they are put back on leash for everyones safety and we move to the side of the trail. Think of it like this, you are an awesome driver right? You obey the laws of the road and consider yourself a defensive driver. But you still wear I seat belt because you cannot control the people driving around you. You cannot control the deer that jumps out in front of your car at night and you hit it. The seat belt will save your life. Just like an e collar could save your dogs life!
