His books are some of the best Entertainment I have read and worth the time to read them. Thank you for a very fun entertaining read. Review: Compelling and depressing - Rape triggers This story is a stand-alone but leaves the reader hanging. No editing errors, gratuitous violence or drag-you-down drama. Unanswered questions. Intriguing storyline with descriptive writing that draws the reader into each scene. Flexible procedures, actions and reactions. Believable characters with distinct personalities. Thought-provoking dialogue. Why did the Rape Crimes force fail her? Were the other victims located and told their rapists had been found? No desire to re-read this story. I am always interested works by this author.

Beware Spring Break
Have read nothing by Reinhard that was a poor effort. Have read novels that were varied degrees of good. ;-). Beset is a police procedural set in Miami. The aspect of this effort that truly surprised me is the boredom associated with police work Reinhard is able to make interesting. There are moments in this work that are filled with tension and which grab the reader, but the day to day police work will pull the reader into the story. Well done, Mr. Reinhard, well done.

Never fails to entertain!
I love this author. Started the series in the middle, then backtracked to the earlier ones. All the characters are realistic, the police procedures to the letter and the humanity of all the characters Volos every part of the great plots. Highly recommended.

Letdown
Disappointing ending. The smart, determined, female victim of a gang of serial rapists who left her for dead is ignored by the police, so she decides to take her own revenge. She just about gets it done, but she's killed by the final rapist who manages to live. Even though he is captured be the police, and we assume he'll get his punishment, the ending is supremely unsatisfying. Even if she didn't get her final man, she was the focus of the entire story. The way she was abruptly disposed of, we didn't even witness her death, was dismissive, just as dismissive as what happens to rape victims in the justice system every day. She should have escaped or triumphed over her rapist, even if she was killed or captured by the police in the end.

Interesting take on murder for revenge
"Beset" is a police procedural suspense. The reader sees what the murderer is doing and why even as the police work the case and start closing in. While I did want the police to stop the murderer (she was in full-out revenge mode), she also wanted to stop these 4 men from continuing to do what they did to her (drugged, very violent gang rape, left for dead) and the police weren't stopping them. I wish the story had ended with either other victims speaking out or linking some rape-murders to these men rather than just hinting that she was right about their continuing activities. The author just tells us they have plenty of evidence and moves on to a dog trick competition without fully wrapping up the outcomes of the case for the reader. The main characters were likable, it's implied that justice will be served to all guilty of a crime, and the action was interesting. Though horrid things happened in the past and during the killing spree, the gory details were minimal. The focus was more a summary of what happened and how people reacted to seeing it. If simply being told that a person was stabbed repeatedly in certain place turns you off, then this book won't be for you. There was a fair amount of bad language. There was no sex.

Reinhard does it (again)
For somebody with absolutely no police experience, this author writes one convincing series of police procedural mysteries. The characters are real, and likable. The plot is tightly woven, with no flaws or way of anticipating the dramatic ending. There is nonstop action, adventure, danger and internal politics! Great read!

OUTSTANDING
Book #2 is just as exciting and full of suspense as was Book ##1. This series is proving to be one very outstanding suspenseful series. I can’t wait for the next book.

Detectives have their work cut out to find the woman suspected of gruesome murder but as the plot unfolds it becomescapppatent that great wrong has been done to her to horrible to endure direct description. In th he end more the outstanding issues require another book to answer. Good read

Enjoyed the book from start to finish, my only niggle is that it felt a bit rushed at the end and there wasn't really a conclusion.
