The large electronics is outside the toilet. The light is in the bowl. It really doesn't get wet unless your toilet has high pressure water. We love ours. We have one in each bathroom.

Install 3 batteries watching the polarity and light should be ready. Place the body of the light against the front of the toilet and shape the wire across the top edge of the toilet with the light inside the bowl. Be sure wire is tight against the toilet. The light will come on when the room is dark.

Q: Does it really only sense motion from 6 ft away ?

Yes, the motion sensor could detect from 6.6ft away, just right about the common distance from the door to the toilet bowl. It could help to prevent eating up the battery too fast.

Q: I put the battery in the toilet light and it didn't respond, like it wasn't working.Why?

I think so,it has to be in a dark room and activated by motion sensing. In this way it acts like a night light. It lights up when I go to the toilet late at night.It's like I'm having a late night party, so much fun.And I found that during the day it would stop working.
