ZOOM all day
Alright folks, gather 'round and let me spin you a yarn about a piece of tech that didn't just meet my expectations, it zoomed past them, panned left, tilted up, and then winked in glorious 4K. I'm talking about the Tenveo VLoop 4K PTZ Camera (VL12U), and let me tell you, this isn't just a camera; it's a relationship. A very clear, very accommodating, and occasionally too-perceptive relationship.First off, unboxing this "Red Dot Design Winner" was an experience. It's red, it's sleek, it looks like it could direct a Hollywood blockbuster or at least a very, very high-quality cat video. I half expected it to greet me with a sophisticated British accent. "Good day, sir. Ready for your close-up?" The build quality is immediately apparent – this thing feels more solid than my New Year's resolutions. Now, let's talk about the "PTZ" – Pan, Tilt, Zoom. This isn't just movement; it's poetry in motion. The pan is so smooth, you could film a snail race and make it look like the Indy 500. The tilt? Graceful as a swan. But the 12X OPTICAL ZOOM... oh, the zoom. I can now see the individual threads on the sweater of the person in the back row of our conference room. I can tell if our pastor has switched his brand of coffee from across the sanctuary. It's like having a superpower, but instead of fighting crime, I'm just making sure Brenda in accounting isn't secretly playing solitaire during the budget meeting. The clarity at full zoom is astounding – you could probably read the fine print on a distant squirrel's tiny acorn mortgage. The "Wide View Angle" is another marvel. We used to have to choose between seeing the presenter or the whiteboard. Now? We see the presenter, the whiteboard, half the office, and occasionally Gary from marketing photobombing from the hallway. It's like having eyes in the back of your head, if the back of your head was also capable of streaming in UHD.Connectivity? This camera has more ports than a major shipping hub. USB3.0, HDMI, RJ45, PoE (Power over Ethernet, for the uninitiated, which means fewer cables than a minimalist's dream). It plays nice with Zoom, Skype, and Teams like they're all its best buddies at a tech convention. Setting it up was easier than convincing myself to exercise – plug it in, and boom, you're practically a professional broadcaster. We've used it for video conferences, and suddenly, everyone looks like a news anchor. The 4K resolution is so crisp, I'm pretty sure I saw a pore on my CEO's nose I'd never noticed before. It's a double-edged sword, really. You look amazing, but there's also nowhere to hide. That tiny coffee stain on your tie? Yeah, it's now a 4K feature presentation. For our church streaming, it's been a revelation. The congregation members watching from home say they feel like they're right there in the front pew, possibly even on the altar if we get a bit too enthusiastic with the zoom. The smooth PTZ allows us to follow the speaker without giving anyone motion sickness, which is a definite upgrade from "Bob trying to hold his phone steady."In conclusion, if you're looking for a PTZ camera that's more capable than a Swiss Army knife, smoother than a jazz musician, and clearer than a freshly Windexed window, the Tenveo VLoop VL12U is your huckleberry. It's taken our virtual interactions from "grainy webcam struggles" to "cinematic masterpiece." My only complaint? I can no longer blame the camera when I look tired on a Monday morning. Thanks, Tenveo, you magnificent, red, all-seeing eye!

Love it amazing
The Tenveo VLoop 4K PTZ Camera (VL12U) is an impressive piece of technology that stands out for anyone needing professional-grade video for conferences, live streaming, or large event spaces. After extensive use, I can confidently say this camera delivers on its promises and then some.First, the video quality is exceptional. The 4K ultra-high-definition resolution, powered by a Sony IMX415 CMOS sensor, produces crystal-clear images with vibrant, accurate colors and impressive detail. Whether you’re capturing a wide shot of a meeting room or zooming in on a speaker, the 12X optical zoom ensures every detail is sharp and nothing is lost in the process. The wide-angle lens (up to 78.58°) makes it easy to cover large spaces, and the camera’s ability to pan, tilt, and zoom smoothly means you can always get the perfect shot, even in dynamic situations.Setup is straightforward and flexible thanks to multiple connectivity options. The VL12U supports USB 3.0, HDMI, and RJ45 (with PoE), so you can power, control, and transmit video with a single cable if you choose. This plug-and-play simplicity is a huge plus, especially for users who want to avoid complicated installations. It works seamlessly with popular video conferencing platforms like Zoom, Skype, and Microsoft Teams, and is compatible with both Windows and Mac OS, making it a versatile choice for almost any environment.Performance-wise, the camera is a standout. The PTZ (pan-tilt-zoom) mechanism is whisper-quiet and extremely stable, with a 350° horizontal rotation and up to 90° tilt, so you can reposition the camera without any distracting noise or jitter. The autofocus is fast and reliable, and advanced image processing ensures low-light performance is far superior to standard webcams. There’s also support for advanced video compression formats like H.264 and H.265, which helps maintain high quality even when streaming over networks. The VL12U’s design is both sleek and functional, earning it the 2023 Red Dot Award. It’s compact enough to fit unobtrusively in any room, but robust enough to be mounted on a wall or ceiling using the included bracket. The remote control makes it easy to switch between up to 10 preset positions, which is perfect for multi-angle coverage during events or services. One thing to keep in mind is that the camera does not have a built-in microphone, which is typical for PTZ cameras designed for larger spaces. You’ll want to pair it with a separate audio solution, but this is a minor trade-off given the camera’s outstanding video capabilities .In summary, the Tenveo VLoop 4K PTZ Camera (VL12U) is a top-tier choice for anyone who needs reliable, professional video for conferencing, church streaming, or events. Its image quality, zoom capabilities, smooth PTZ operation, and easy setup make it a worthwhile investment. The award-winning design and strong compatibility across platforms only add to its appeal. Highly recommended for anyone serious about their video presence.

Great picture, but moves on it's own
I bought this for streaming pool matches thru OBS. Took forever to get the settings to look good. When i did, i was disappointed that the PTZ controls, within an OBS plugin, didn't control the camera very good. The presets were sporadic and the camera just moves on it's own between different presets and random back and forth. It has even tried looking so far into the base that u can hear the gears skipping..... I have looked into any way to make this work for me, but I think I am at a loss.I am wired with a USB-C and have an Ethernet cable to it for controls.Edit: Customer support was very attentive to my case; most likely because of the 2 star review. They tried their best to help me with my issues. I never did get the camera working with OBS, but it works pretty good with the stand alone software, from PTZ optics. The presets work great, but when playing with the manual controls, occasionally it will just go haywire and spin out of control, past the point it's supposed to stop, causing me to have to reprogram all my presets. Now that i have those kinks worked out, and only use it with the presets, the camera is great. Quality is amazing and the optical zoom, which was a huge selling point, is amazing!!
