Corndogs!
Great for homemade corndogs! Tall enough for the whole dog to fit, so it saves time and oil.

Perfect!
I really like this asparagus steamer. Recommended by a friend who claimed she can't get along without it, I can see why. It takes up very little room--I'm storing it inside my pasta pot, is perfect for 2 or 3 servings of just about any steam able vegetable, and is super easy to use and clean.Dubious about the tiny amount of water in the bottom, I steamed some asparagus for 5 minutes. The asparagus was perfectly cooked, and there was still plenty of water left in the pot. I steamed some Brussels sprouts for 9 minutes, and there was still water left. I'm a convert to the cult of the asparagus steamer! The other use I've found for this is as a wine bottle chiller. Yes, a wine chiller. Put a bottle of wine in the pot, and then fill the pot with ice and water. In about fifteen minutes, your Chardonnay or Pinot Grigio will be at the perfect temperature. You can do that while the asparagus you previously steamed, as well as the herb mayonnaise you made to go with the asparagus are cooling in the fridge. This pot will accommodate a BIG bottle.Talk about your one pot meals!

Good pot but not even close to the advertised size
The pot is 8 1/4 inches high and 5 1/2 inches diameter. The specifications say 10"D x 8.75"W x 5.5"H. The picture says 11 inches high with lid. I have no idea what their numbers mean. I was looking for a pot 10 inches high for sous vide cooking, but this works despite being only 8+ inches high. The specifications say the pot holds 2.9 liters or 3 quarts. It is actually 3.5 liters or 3.69 quarts. Despite the factory not having any idea what they are selling, it is a sturdy pan that works fine.

Useless for asparagus and very poor quality metal also
This pot may work for corn or other vegies but it is completely useless for asparagus, which is what it was meant for. The asparagus falls out thru the large spaces around the sides of the strainer when you put it in and when you try to get it out. Super frustrating. Instead, get a pot that has a mesh strainer. Also, the quality of the pot itself is really crummy - another piece of junk made in China. If we hadn't already used this (ONCE!) I would return it to Amazon.

Canning awesomeness
I waited a long time to buy a asparagus steamer for canning... I was a fool. What can I say other than it is "perfect" for small batch canning. I can fit 1/2 pints all the way up to quart jars (albeit barely). It heats up water quickly and I can see the water boiling through the glass top. The steamer hole also allows me to see when the water is at a hard boil. I can jam to fruit to syrups to tomatoes. Being a slow prepper, it even allows me to ready the next jar while the previous jar is being canned. The price is excellent. I went to a regular department store to find it at almost double the price and it wasn't even as well made! This SS cooker/steamer feels solidly constructed. So unless I get a bumper crop of tomatoes, my old 7 QT canner is gonna get mothballed!

Nice little affordable steemer
I found this steamer to the right size for my needs. It is stainless steel and very affordable. Better in my opinion than others offered elsewhere. It distributes heat evenly and I like the design as well.
